May 21, 2009. In My Rut

This Wasn't There Yesterday
This Wasn’t There Yesterday

Finally it rained last night. The air was cool this morning, but the sun was out, promising a hot and humid afternoon. I had coffee and a fresh Wal-Mart almond cookie before work.

After work I made the usual library visit where I read the only 3 English language newspapers they had. Then I walked home. By that time it had turned cloudy and a little cooler. I decided to take a new route home and do a little exploration. Nothing exciting turned up. The pics look like all the other street views I have taken.

For the third or fourth day in a row I ate dinner at my noodle restaurant. I promised myself to do something different tomorrow. My bowl of hand made noodle soup cost 5 yuan (about 0.75 USD). It had a few veggies, garlic, beef broth, cilantro, green onions, a few slivers of beef, and a few things I could not identify.

At dusk I hit the park and did my 12 laps, then home for the evening. Didn’t go to the night market. I had a few fruits left over from previous days in case I got hungry.
