Living in China. June 22, 2010.

Another hot morning, but about 11:00 we had a tiny bit of rain, cooling it off a little. But after 5 minutes the sun came out causing extremely high heat and humidity.

Went to the ATM about noon. Planned on getting some dumplings for lunch, but the place I wanted to go is not air conditioned, so decided to skip lunch and have a pizza at La Casa tonight instead.

Went to La Casa for the chess club, but only 2 other players attended. I left early and decided to stop by the lotus root soup restaurant for dinner on my way home.  I had been there three days ago, but didn’t have soup because it was too hot.

To my surprise the restaurant was closed and all the tables, chairs, counters, refrigerators, and equipment had been removed. There was another restaurant next door. It was closed and empty too. I have no idea what happened. I will miss that place both for the soup and its excellent vantage for people watching.

Ended up at my second favorite people watching place. Thankfully it was still there.

Stopped by the night market and bought a bag of hairy red fruit to take home.
