Living in China. Wednesday. June 23, 2010.

Stormed early this morning. The electricity went out for about an hour. I unplugged everything and went back to bed.

After it stopped raining two friends and I met in the Nanshan district where my friend June had opened a little restaurant in January. I went on opening day, but hadn’t been back since.

June’s restaurant is very small with only 6 tables in the main dining room. She had installed two additional tables in an upstairs area. June’s restaurant serves Taiwanese cuisine and is in the food court of a nice upscale mall. It was busy when we entered, but was empty when we left. She planned to doing a lot of takeout business, but I didn’t see any while we were there. I think she’s a little disappointed in the amount of business she has been doing.

After a couple of hours at June’s we went up to a bar on the third floor of the mall where we watched soccer for a while before returning home.
