Living in China. June 26, 2010.

Rained again all day.

This is a restaurant about 2 blocks from my house. It used to be a fish restaurant, but at the end of 2009 it closed and the building underwent an extensive renovation. In February it reopened as a restaurant specializing in the cuisine of Xinjiang. I have never eaten Xinjiang food and was curious about it.

A few days after it opened some friends and I went there to eat, but it was so crowded that decided to go elsewhere. Now, 3 months later, it has closed. I wonder what happened.

About 15:30 I headed out to La Casa for chess club. Took a taxi instead of the bus because of the rain. Didn’t feel like walking 6 blocks to the bus stop. No one showed up for chess. I sat and talked to David, the owner, for a while. Said hello to a few friends who drifted in and out. Ate a green salad for dinner. Went home early.
