Living in China. July 18, 2010.

It was very cool and pleasant this morning, but it got hot as soon as the sun came up. The temperature in my apartment quickly rose to 91. I closed my windows and turned on the air conditioner as I cleaned and did laundry.

When I arrived here someone gave me a carton of expensive cigarettes as a welcome back gift. Of course, I don’t smoke, so I’ve been carrying a pack around in my shoulder bag. If I find myself talking to someone I usually offer them a cigarette. I got rid of about a pack and a half that way. But now whenever I run into someone I have given a cigarette to previously, they offer me one of theirs now. I usually take it and if they offer a light, I will smoke it without inhaling. So now I don’t carry my cigarettes with me anymore. Maybe I can find someone to give all I have left.

Went to Starbucks this afternoon. Had a cold fruit tea. Carried my camera as always, but the battery went dead, so no pictures today.

Had a tofu stir fry for dinner.
