It wasn’t really hot this morning. I slept with the windows opens instead of the air conditioner. The yellow heat warning symbol was on the TV screen.
There were light clouds most of the day. Went out to get a refill for my water cooler, but they weren’t selling any because there was magnesium contamination from the recent rains. It will be OK by tomorrow. I have an electric pot so I boiled some tap water for coffee.
Went out early and walked in the park. About 15:00 I headed home. The guy was playing his flute in front of his restaurant, so I stopped in to listed for a while. After a few minutes he was joined by a man playing a Chinese violin/guitar type instrument. It is called a “orfu,” I think.
Clearly the flute player was the better musician and gave the orfu player instructions and help.
After listening a while I entered the restaurant and ordered a tofu/pepper/garlic/black mushroom stir fry and a beer. An obviously deranged man carrying a duffle bag came in and sat down. He talked to the waitress, the manager, and the owner. Apparently they wanted him to leave, but he wouldn’t. Two burly cooks emerged from the kitchen, and the manager went to the sidewalk where a cop was patrolling. She got the cop to come in and make the guy leave.
Continued listening to the music from inside the restaurant.
I talked to Lucy, a waitress in the cafe. She is a student studying finance. I had met her previously. She speaks a little English, but with a very thick accent.
Got a call from the travel agent that our visas had arrived. Sea will pick them up tomorrow and I’ll proceed buying tickets and making reservations. Never heard from Nina, so I assume she will not accompany us.
