July 22, 2009. Kuala Lumpur City Tour

Royal Palace
Royal Palace

We did the city tour today. It began at 09:30 at a hotel a couple of blocks from ours. I left before the girls so I could have coffee at a cafe on the way.

First we went to the Royal Palace where we saw the changing of the guard. Then there was on a a Chinese temple that set on top of a hill. Sea and Vivian prayed, I took pictures. There were great views of the city from the temple.

Next stop was a Batik factory where we saw how Batik is made, and where we were pressued to purchase something. None of us bought anything.

It was about 11:00, and it started raining. It continued all afternoon. We didn’t get out of the car at several spots we were supposed to visit. At some we just took pics through the car windows. Most of these turned out badly, so I am not going to publish them.

We went by some old colonial era government buildings but didn’t get out because of the rain. We visited some monuments and structures. We went by a few mosques.

The tour ended at the Petronas Towers where the driver let us out is a sheltered area. We walked around taking pictures. There was a very fancy shopping mall between the towers. Vivian had a nice time there looking for her next birthday present. Poor Martin (her husband)!! The least expensive handbag she looked at was over $800.00 USD.

After the towers, we went back to Petaling Street’
